Under 16 banned from film.

According to news reports: "Singapore film censors have barred those under 16 years of age from watching The DaVinci Code because they are afraid some children might see it as a factual movie." So with Big Brother watching a lot of other people won't be watching.

But what about films about space aliens, talking animals, etc? Surely this sort of logic bans children from attending any film for children. So, in fact, the reason for this ruling can not be the public statement. What they mean is that they dont' want children confused about facts versus fiction only when it comes to religion. But then virtually all religious films are fiction. Yes, The DaVinci Code is fiction. But I submit so would be any other film regarding religious matters. What we know about Jesus that can be historically verified is scant material indeed. Yet hundreds, if not thousands of hours of film on the topic have been produced and are shown regularly around the world.

It appears that this action in Singapore is merely a special privilege given to Christian groups to prevent any challenge to their beliefs.
